The Collar and Lead Club was started in Farnborough in 1985 by the late Michael Delany and his wife Barbara. Their daughter Sarah joined the instructing team in 1992 and is currently the Head Instructor at the club.

The club was initially formed to train handlers and dogs for Competitive Obedience Competitions which it still does today with members competing at all levels including the top Championship level. Our Competitive Obedience classes are currently held in Upper Hale, near Farnham on Monday afternoons and at Newnham Clubroom near Hook on Tuesday evenings.

However the club soon also branched out into holding Pet Training classes and in 1992 started using Clicker training for all its training courses. This positive reinforcement technique for training is non-punitive and creates dogs which love to learn and want to focus on their owners.

Currently there are several pet courses run for puppies. These include:

All these courses are currently held in Farnborough on a Wednesday night.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is also incorporated in our Pet Training classes. The scheme training teaches the basics of dog ownership and all dogs are eligible for Good Citizen training. We cover the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and our Good Citizen Scheme Training classes are currently held in Aldershot on a Thursday night. Our Head Trainer also carries out Private Puppy and older Pet Training lessons which can be at your home or at an enclosed field in Badshot Lea. We are listed with the Kennel Club.

For further information on any of the classes/courses or to book a place please contact Barbara Delany on 01252 321711.
